Lately a lot of clients are asking me about Facebook. If you have a business and a website, it would be a good idea to take advantage of Facebook’s reach. You can set up a ‘fan page’ for your business and use it to drive people to your website.
Fans “like” the page and in turn also click the “like” button we’ll install on your site pages as well.
Facebook has an advertising program wherein you can reach targeted prospects throughout their millions of users (nearly 500 million!) and not just your friends and their friends. Sitepoint.com has a class for $47 on writing Facebook ads. I haven't taken it, but I have taken classes there and they're good.
To get started on setting up your business’ fan page, go to this page. Once you’re set up you can then create badges and get plug ins for your web pages. Note that it isn’t necessary to have a fan page to put a ‘like’ button on your site, but the two working together is where it’s at.
